We are excited for you to be apart of our trip to Cuba for the Havana Jazz Festival. For many of you, this will be the first visitation to this country, so I have complied a few suggestions for your consideration and things to know for your trip.
VISA:
Get it at your departure airport (the flight heading to Cuba) or Miami. The visa cost $100 and is mandatory to enter Cuba.
CASH:
You MUST bring all the cash you intend to use in Cuba and then some (spending budget of $100 per day is recommended). The “then some” is cover any spontaneous purchasing you may choose to make. Credit cards and bank cards are NOT accepted.

CURRENCY EXCHANGE:
We will handle your currency exchanges to ensure that everyone receives the best rates.

SOCKET CONVERTERS:
Cuba uses both Type A/B and Type C power outlets. We recommend bringing a Universal Adapter with you to make sure you will be able to seamlessly charge any of your personal electronics.
WHATSAPP:
The link below will add you to our group chat where all communication is centralized and as long as the person has a Wi-Fi or cellular connection they can receive the messages in as close to real time as possible

INTERNET:
Most hotels have wifi in the lobby, so reach out the front desk for details. For those who have an Airbnb, your host may offer wifi, but know that there may be times whenever it doesn't work. The government has control of this and sometimes shut off for hours at a time. Sim cards can be purchased.

WATER:
As a general rule, you should AVOID tap water in Cuba and stick to drinking bottled water. This includes mixed drinks made with tap water and beverages containing ice made from tap water (pro tip: when drinking water in Cuba at local restaurants, ask for your drinks without ice).

AIR QUALITY:
Due to the exhaust fumes from the old cars and buses, the air quality in Havana is not the greatest. For people suffering from severe allergies or respiratory conditions, we recommend that you bring masks.
TRAVEL INSURANCE:
Travel Insurance covers medical expenses. Travelers may be asked for valid health insurance with COVID-19 coverage. Travelers without health insurance can buy Cuban medical insurance coverage at the airport upon arrival or online before travel. This may be included with some airline tickets, so travelers should check with their airlines.
